With the razor thin margins of today's businesses, even the slightest advantage can make all the difference…

  • Start with the Intermec CK3, CN3/4 or CN50 Mobile Computer to perform multiple computing functions and improve operational performance metrics, simplify IT support and control operating costs.

  • Add an Intermec PB22/32/50 Rugged Mobile Label Printer with a time to first label solution that’s twice as fast as the competition .
  • PLUS - Add the Bronze Complete Day 1-3 year Service Contract

Receive a rebate of £150 on Total Solution

The new PB22, PB32, and PB50 Intermec rugged mobile label printer family:- These printers have a time to first label that is 20 to 30% faster than the nearest competitor. They are more rugged than competitive printers, feature more memory and longer battery life, and are very easy to use. Intermec's new PB printers are also the only "smart" mobile printers, that run applications directly in the printer which interacte with users and other devices, on the market. Download datasheet

Intermec CN50 receives new cost effective configuration options

Intermec has announced enhancements to its most advanced rugged mobile computer, the CN50. The improvements double the computer’s memory and provide expanded scanning options to give customers more choice when configuring the high performance voice and data communication solution.

The CN50 now comes with 256 MB of memory, which enables faster responsiveness and allows customers to use multiple simultaneous applications, including applications with a large database or applications that use RAM based virtual machines. Another enhancement is the flexibility to deploy the EA11 1D/2D area imager optimised for scan intensive applications, or the EA21 area imager that is designed for barcode reading as well as full page document imaging with Intermec’s eMDI software.

For businesses in regions that do not have 3G cellular networks or with limited data communications requirements, Intermec is also offering a version of the CN50 that operates over EDGE networks. The new configuration is more cost effective for customers in regions that do not support 3G infrastructure. Download CN50 spec sheet

White Paper:- Understanding & Evaluating Mobile Printer Performance

Print speed, size, weight and power requirements are all listed on printer spec sheets. “Performance” “productivity” and “value” are not. Understanding how the former contribute to the latter is essential for finding the mobile printer that best fits the usage requirements.

The true differentiators among mobile printers are how quickly and reliably they perform in real world environments. The time to first label and total print time, not listed print speed, have a direct impact on how much mobile printing processes will improve worker productivity.

Durability determines how long the printer will reliably remain in service, and thus is an important component to total cost of ownership. Other factors that impact the cost and value associated with integrating and using mobile printers include support for enterprise networking, security and management protocols, and compatibility with the legacy printing environment.

Geographers’ A-Z Maps Upgrade Field Sales Mobile Computers to the Latest Intermec CN4

A-Z publishes over 300 titles covering street maps and atlases. Its comprehensive range is distributed throughout the UK via its field sales operation to over 15,000 customers.

Having successfully helped A-Z reduce order processing from 5 days to 1 hour back in 2004 by specifying and deploying a rugged mobile computing and printing solution for its Field Sales operations and reducing customer claims by 83% with a new mobile warehouse solution in 2008, Sandpiper was A-Z’s natural choice to propose a migration plan for its next generation hardware requirements.

Having enjoyed over 6 years of reliable service from the previous generation of Intermec rugged handheld computers and in vehicle document printers, A-Z found that changes to its business necessitated a review of the installed system. New fulfilment contracts that A-Z has recently won meant that data volumes have increased significantly.

The in vehicle printing requirements have not changed significantly so it was desirable to retain the purpose designed rugged vehicle mounted printers that continue to reliably produce multipart, multipage delivery documentation in support of the field sales operation.

Understanding the changing business requirements was key to Sandpiper working with A-Z and ultimately recommending a migratory solution to the Intermec CN4. The unit provided the increased memory, faster wireless communications and longevity; all key to A-Z’s ongoing requirements for a long term scalable business solution.

Fundamentally the application software functionality has not changed, however it was necessary to port the handheld component to the newer Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Sandpiper was able to assist in this by providing the Wireless Wide Area Network software toolkit that provides A-Z’s application developer with an extensive library of tools aimed at minimising development effort while optimising the efficiency and performance of a mobile application.
